different effects

I wonder if anyone can tell me what software is used to put people in old movies? I have seen commercials and music videos where they do this. The music video of AM Radio by Everclear has the band members faces in the Brady Bunch episodes and I wonder how they do this type of effect.

This is called compositing, and it's very difficult and time consuming to do correctly and convincingly.
It's not automatic in any way, and you will probably spend months or even years, before learning to do it right.
I didn't want to discourage you, but this is one of those things that people assume computers are doing just with a few presses of buttons, when in reality, it's a tedious and difficult art form, though not impossible.
The only software I know of that is not very, very expensive, that does it well, is Adobe AfterFX.
It helps to have Photoshop as well.

Yes, I meant compositing. Isn't there a freeware program that does morphing? I think it's called Bitmorph or something like that.
